The Amanora Spring Festival kicked off the season with a mix of mouth-watering food and drink, and foot-tapping music. On February 13 and 14 the beautiful two-acre lake and its picturesque surroundings at the Amanora Park Town in Hadapsar came alive as the Amanora Spring Festival was ushered in with a host of festivities. “The venue is perfect for a festival like this,” said B. Shankaranarayan of the Pune Gourmet Club, organisers of the Festival at Amanora Park Town. They had a chance to taste over 25 Indian and Italian wines, seven domestic and imported beers and sample gourmet food ranging from Cajun blackened fish to fresh pizzas, and seafood, BBQ items to Lebanese shwarma and falafel.”</span>
The sprawling lawns were dotted with gazebos. Visitors could be seen relaxing on the lawns, enjoying themselves. Some participated in grape stomping sessions organised by Reveilo Wines. Children and adults had a great time kayaking on the serene expanse of the two-acre lake, while a spectacular demonstration by two motorised para-gliders performed breathtaking manoeuvres over the festival area. Adding to the festive air the 22-piece Bombay Sappers brass band, resplendent in their formal regalia, performed popular numbers ranging from marches to oldies, while their 11-piece jazz orchestra surprised visitors with their prowess the next day. Popular local band Smokestack added their special touch to the Festival on both days with excellent jazz renditions. One of the highlights of the Festival was a Latin Dance Show by professional dancers Don and Cindy. The duo got the audience grooving under their instruction.
